

KFC Fried Chicken – Easy & Proven 4-Step Recipe for KFC Style Fried Chicken!

At the dinner table, one of the personnel comments, ”WOW, you can give KFC competition!” So yes guys, its really that good! And yes, you can make this happen right in your very own kitchen! Let’s get cooking…
KFC’S 11 SECRET SPICES!!!!
To get that great kicking KFC flavour, all you have to do is blend up these 11 secret spices:
- 2/3 tbsp salt
- 3 tbsp white pepper
- 1 tbsp black pepper
- 1/2 tbsp basil
- 1 tbsp celery salt
- 1 tbsp dried mustard
- 2 tbsp garlic salt
- 1 tbsp ground ginger
- 1/3 tbsp oregano
- 4 tbsp paprika
- 1/2 tbsp thyme
Blend ingredients in a food processor until all spices are similar sized. Mix in 2 cups of flour. Tada, your secret breading mixture is complete!

Adding some MSG (monosodium glutamate) helps with that extra crunch! (I didn’t add any since I didn’t have) But according to Ron Douglas, author of America’s Most Wanted Recipes, the real key to the perfect crispy texture is MSG. 4 Simple Steps to Frying The Best Fried Chicken:


STEP 1:
Wash your chicken pieces in lime & salt and pat dry. Rub with green seasoning and let marinate for 20 minutes. (I used quality, affordable whole chicken wings from Westco Foods)
STEP 2:
Dip seasoned chicken pieces into egg and milk wash. Make sure they are completely immersed in order for the breaded coating to stick.




STEP 3:
Place in secret spice breaded mixture. Toss around a few times until completely covered. Make sure you are unable to see any part of the raw skin.
STEP 4:
Transfer immediately to the deep fat fryer. (Heat oil to 350 F) Deep fry the chicken pieces for exactly 12 minutes, a few at a time, depending on the size of your deep fat fryer. (I fit three big chicken wing pieces comfortably at once) To ensure that they are cooked through, rest them in the oven at 175 F for a few minutes, this would also keep them hot and crunchy. (KFC actually does this before serving, according to a former employee)
